Friends of Jupiter Beach Cleanup

The FIRST Saturday of every month @ 8:00am

Ocean Cay Park, 2188 Marcinski Road

Friends of Jupiter Beach - Beach Cleanups and More

Friends of Jupiter Beach has been organizing beach cleanups on the FIRST Saturday of every month since 1994. Volunteers arrive to help remove trash & recyclables, then gather for a continental breakfast & “thanks for coming” door prizes. A project that began with a handful of volunteers has evolved into a significant force for environmental care of our shoreline and marine environment.

Check out The One Piece Plan

The One Piece Plan

The One Piece Plan: If we each make a commitment to pick up One Piece of trash every time we hit the shoreline, we can make a tremendous difference!

Spiny Lobsters - Lobster Season - Florida

The special two-day mini-season occurs on the last consecutive Wednesday and Thursday in July each year to let recreational fishermen collect spiny lobsters before commercial lobster traps are placed in the water. Commercial fishermen may begin putting their traps in the water Aug. 1, and recreational and commercial fishermen may harvest spiny lobsters starting Aug. 6. Spiny lobsters must have a carapace length greater than 3 inches to be taken during the open seasons, and divers must possess a fishing license, measuring device and measure all lobsters in the water.

SFWMD plans to spend millions to repair two dams on the Loxahatchee River:

Park Improvement Projects Coming to North County (by: Commissioner Hal R. Valeche)

Riviera Beach: Phil Foster Park now has a new artificial reef and snorkel trail.

Juno: New docks along Intracoastal provide access to Juno Dunes Natural Area.

Jupiter: The County will spend about 3.6 million on improvements to 11.7-acre Fullerton Island, which will include removing 6 acres of exotic plants, 59,000 cubic yards of sand, building a 19-foot observation tower and floating dock with six slips, clearing kayak paths and maintaining the island, one-third of which is under water. Jupiter paid $2.9M in 2008.

Jupiter: The town spent $400,000 to build the inlet village marina on A1A near Guanabanas. The town paid $3.9 million for the vacant 1-acre parcel opened in November, 2010. The marina provides free daytime docking for about eight boats.

Jupiter: The county is considering a $5 million plan to build three public boat ramps at the proposed waterway park at the northwest corner of Indiantown Road and the Intracoastal Waterway.

Jupiter: Construction has been completed to raise two stationary US-1 bridges near Burt Reynolds Park to the statewide standard 12-foot height.
